What is SUIS.co?
SUIS.co is a simplified commerce platform which started as a side project during the 2021 pandemic.
During the pandemic, some were fortunate to have jobs, but most were not. A few of my friends were unfortunate; They lost jobs and started selling food online to make ends meet.
My friends and I, who were fortunate enough to have a job during the pandemic, decided to support them, and many others did too. My friends who were affected by layoffs were using social media and chat messaging apps to run their business.
Due to the Malaysian government's issuance of movement restriction orders during the pandemic, many people were stuck at home and started ordering food online (including me).
My friend, who was selling biscuits and desserts online at the time, started getting more orders. At the same time, he was also doing online tutoring, and growing dessert orders kept him busy. He was advertising on social media and receiving inquiries and orders via WhatsApp chat.
Some frustration he had at the time was answering customer inquiries. The details were already provided in the social media post, yet the customer started a WhatsApp conversation for inquiries, and customers often overlook details in the post.
Sometimes, my friend also overlooked some order details in the chat history due to a lot of messages by the customer before placing an order, which led to order cancellation and a complaint.
It was clear that taking orders via a messaging app was not ideal for his growing online business.
Having worked in Multi-Tenant Software as a Service (SaaS) projects with Stripe integration previously, gave me an idea for a simple platform to:
- List products with variations.
- Take orders by sharing the seller's order page URL.
- Receive online payments via Stripe.
- Add contents in the order page with WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor.
Currently, the platform has more features than it was initially planned for, such as:
- Invoice generation
- Theme customization
- Sales event & Coupon creation
- Users & Role management
- Stock count management
- Analytics platform integration
